Multiplication Bookmarks

One day, after learning skip counting, the little one suddenly asks me about multiplication. I don't exactly remember the details of how that came about, all I know is that it did.

So we started with Zero and the little one found that really fun and funny. Who wouldn't right. Any number multiplied to 0 is zero. 1x0, 2x0, 3x0, 4x0... Then  we did 1,000 x 0, and it still equal to 0. Even asked him 1,000,000.00x0, it's still equal to 0. The little one just kept laughing, and laughing, and laughing.

Then we did 1s. That one was just as easy. Any number multiplied by 1 is the same number. 1x1=1, 1x2=2, 1x3=3, 1x4=4... so we got to 1x100 he said 100. I asked 1x763, he said 763. I asked 1x5,326 and he said 5,326. So he easily got the concept.

Last thing we did for the day is 2s. Since he knew skip counting by 2 really well, I was hoping he could get this one  just as easily. Took a little explaining, and told him its just skip counting by 2, and some paper and pen, but he got it eventually.

To help him along, I also created these bookmarks so he can have a chart or a guide or something to help him as we keep learning his multiplication.

This file is prepared on U.S. copy paper (8.5x11 inches) I recommend laminating this product for multiple uses. Just cut along or around the rectangular bookmarks that are separated by each color. Punch a hole, a guide has been provided for your convenience, this is where you can place a 1" binder ring to put all the bookmarks together, to keep them together.
